TRAVEL giant TUI is closing 166 stores in another blow for the industry, impacting 900 staff. The holiday firm said the decision was made following changes in customer behaviour. Then all stores had to close because of the coronavirus lockdown. The travel firm says the move comes in reponse to changing shopping habits, with the shift online "accelerated" by COVID-19. It now appears all 240 stores will remain closed and 2,400 employees will lose their jobs, according to Wales Online. The company said it will close 166 of its 516 high-street stores in the UK and Ireland “as it adapts to changes in customer behaviour”.
